C. G. Hornsby Jr., DDS of Baton Rouge Louisiana, was born and raised in Denham Springs, Louisiana. He attended LSU undergraduate school in Baton Rouge. Dr. Hornsby was accepted to LSU School of Dentistry and received his D.D.S. degree in 1975. He then entered his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at LSU in New Orleans.
After he finished his training which included the full scope of oral surgery- (IV Sedation, general anesthesia, wisdom teeth removal, implant placement, oral and maxillofacial trauma, pediatric oral surgery, reconstructive jaw surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, laser surgery, and oral and facial tumors), Dr. Hornsby entered into private practice in Baton Rouge.
Dr. Hornsby is actively involved in a full time oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Baton Rouge and is also associate professor with the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. He is chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge. At this time approximately five OMS residents and interns are working there. Dr. Hornsby is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. He is a fellow in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a member of the Louisiana Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Southeast Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Louisiana Dental Association, the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association, and the Academy of Osteointegration.
