Franklin D. Wilson, MD of Noblesville Indiana, founded Sports Medicine Institute of Indiana in 1991 and has practiced orthopedic surgery for more than 27 years. Dr. Wilson is Board-Certified by both the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons with a sub-specialty in Sports Medicine. He specializes in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine, with expertise in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee.
Dr. Wilson earned his Medical Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Bloomington, IN, where he played basketball on the Big 10 All-Star Team and was coached by Bob Knight. He completed an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Indiana University. Dr. Wilson Fellowship Trained in Sports Medicine with Dr. James Andrews, one of the World’s
foremost experts in Sports Medicine, at Hughston Orthopaedic Clinic in Columbus, GA.
Dr. Wilson is a recognized authority in the field of sports medicine. He serves as a consultant to the United States Olympic Committee and as a Neutral Physician to the National Football League. Dr. Wilson is a national presenter and his research is published in peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Wilson is professionally affiliated with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Arthroscopy Association of North America, Indiana State Medical Association, Hughston Society, and American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society.
Dr. Wilson is active in his community church and enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid golfer and skier.
