Nathan R Yokel, MDNathan R. Yokel, MD of Oxon Hill Maryland, completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a focus on diagnostic and interventional ultrasound and sports medicine. Dr. Yokel is well versed in management not only of the spine but the entire musculoskeletal system. He uses an integrated approach incorporating real time ultrasound, electro diagnostics, and physical exam to determine the exact cause of each individual patient’s pain or impaired function. His focus on sports medicine, regenerative treatments, and traditional pain management procedures and rehabilitation are incorporated together to help patients get back to the activities they enjoy participating in most.

Dr. Yokel grew up in Takoma Park and Greenbelt, Maryland and is happy to be able to continue to practice in the area. After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland in College Park he moved to Philadelphia where he completed medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. He then returned to Maryland to complete Master degrees in Public Health and Business Administration at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He completed his internship at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and then moved down to Washington, DC where he finished his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the National Rehabilitation Hospital.

Outside of his work caring for patients at the Metro Spine Pain Centers, Dr. Yokel enjoys spending time at home with his wife and two sons. His interests include playing golf, tennis, basketball, crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay, traveling, and grilling out in his back yard on a nice day. He is an avid local sports fan and enjoys rooting on the University of Maryland athletic teams and the Washington Redskins.
